Klaus Wladar was born in Vienna and began his guitar studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Eliot Fisk. Some of the other teachers that have influenced him are: Franz Halász (Augsburg College of Music), Alex Garrobé (Barcelona) and Dagoberto Linhares (Conservatoire de Lausanne).
Following his successful completion of the master class in Lausanne (1st prize with distinction), he performed the « Concierto de Aranjuez » with Orchestra de Chambre de Lausanne in the winners’ concert. An extensive tour with various Swiss orchestras followed.
Klaus Wladar is the winner of the following guitar competitions: « Concorso Internazionale Città di Stresa » (Italy), « International Guitar Competition of Volos » (Greece) and the « Tokyo International Guitar Contest » (Japan).
After winning the Tokyo competition, he made several successful tours of Japan.
Klaus Wladar performs regularly, both as a soloist and a chamber musician, in countries such as Switzerland, France, Italy, Portugal, Germany and Spain, and is a member of the prestigious Alegrías Guitar Trio (http://alegriastrio.de)
He also teaches guitar at the Leopold Mozart Centre, University of Augsburg.
