The EU opposes the annexation and considers the illegal settlements in the occupied territories as an obstacle to international peace and stability.
But even though illegal settlements are a war crime, the EU allows trade with them. This trade allows for profiting from annexation and contributes to the expansion of illegal settlements around the world.
We call for a European law that will put an end to trade with illegal settlements once and for all.
This law will apply to all occupied territories, including the occupied Palestinian territory and illegal Israeli settlements.
The law will also send a strong signal to the world that the EU will no longer reward territorial aggression with trade and profits.

A European Citizens' Initiative ( ECI) is an official instrument for the democratic participation of citizens in EU policy-making.
If an ECI collects one million signatures from EU citizens over a 12-month period, the European Commission must examine and debate the petition's demands.
This ECI demands European legislation that will make it illegal to trade with illegal settlements anywhere and anytime, including trade with Israel's illegal settlements in occupied Palestine.
The coalition calls on every European citizen concerned about human rights, social justice and fair trade to sign the petition.
This European citizens' initiative is led by the #StopSettlements coalitionThis European citizens' initiative is led by the European Coalition for Democracy and Development (ECD), which brings together leading civil society organizations in the field of human rights, environmental and social justice, trade unions and politicians to unite against the profits of annexation and occupation to protect human rights, fair trade and international peace.
