Iveta Calite is a Latvian pianist, born in Riga.
Iveta is a devoted chamber musician and soloist. Iveta has played concerts in the Nordics, Baltics, USA, France and Germany and has made several recordings for the Latvian Radio, as well as recorded a contemporary piece with the Norwegian Radio orchestra.
Iveta has been a soloist with the Royal College of Music in Stockholm (KMH) string and symphony orchestras.
In 2021 Iveta Calite and violinist Magdalena Geka recorded a CD of violin sonatas by the Latvian composer Maija Einfelde for the Latvian National record label SKANI. The CD has received great critical acclaim both nationally and internationally and received 3 nominations for the prestigious German music award Opus Klassik.
After obtaining her primary musical education in Latvia, Iveta moved to Paris to study at Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot under the guidance of Jean Marc Luisada. From 2012 she studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm with Stefan Bojsten and Mats Widlund where she obtained a Master’s degree in piano performance and chamber music and a soloist diploma.
Iveta is Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Swedish Royal Academy’s and Nordic Free-Masons scholarship holder.
Iveta’s ongoing projects include all-Ravel concert series, all-female composer concerts in Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden and Germany and recordings of the piano repertoire by Maurice Ravel.
