Altrimenti Jazz Band is the vibrant new in-house ensemble at Altrimenti Jazz Club. They offer a refreshing mix of swing, rhythm and blues, and soul, bringing timeless music to life with a solid rhythm section, dynamic brass, and captivating vocal performances. You’ll hear jazz standards alongside famous hits from the last decades, featuring legends like Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Duke Ellington, and many more…

Led by pianist Geoffrey Sabba, they bring together musicians from across the Greater Region, uniting multiple generations and combining their diverse experiences with fresh energy. Drawing inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of this area, a unique combination of intuition, imagination, and talent leaves plenty of room for creative improvisation that fuels the band’s chemistry.

Geoffrey Sabba began his musical journey with classical and jazz training at the Conservatoire de la Ville d’Esch-sur-Alzette and the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg. In 2012, he and Simon Acquaviva co-founded The Pickles, an instrumental free- rock band. Since 2018, Geoffrey has been a key pianist and arranger for DukeBox, a swing band catering to Lindy Hop and Blues dancers in Luxembourg and nearby areas.
In 2022, he launched the Geoffrey Sabba Quartet to delve deeper into modern jazz. This quartet blends various jazz styles, influenced by his classical and jazz education, and incorporates modern sounds like electric synthesizers and the Fender Rhodes.

Salima Cherifi is an accomplished jazz vocalist known for her evocative voice and profound musicality. A conservatoire graduate specializing in jazz vocal performance and harmony, she blends traditional and contemporary jazz elements seamlessly.
Her notable collaborations include performing with the Luxembourg Jazz Orchestra under Gast Waltzing, showcasing her versatility and unique interpretations. Celebrated for her clarity and emotional depth, Salima’s performances reflect her passion for jazz, innate rhythm, and melody, making her a standout in the jazz community;

Simon Acquaviva, born in Metz in 1990, grew up in a music-loving family. He began his musical journey with an acoustic guitar, later joining the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Metz, where he discovered jazz. In 2012, he co-founded The Pickles with Geoffrey Sabba, an instrumental free-rock band, playing local stages and recording the EP “Sweet’N’Sour.”
After earning a master’s degree in 2014, he returned to the Conservatoire de Metz to learn piano and trained in Computer Aided Music (CAM). In 2018, he co-founded the Small E.D. Band, a cover band of Eddy Mitchell’s hits. Since 2019, he has studied jazz guitar and music production at the Conservatoire d’Esch-Sur- Alzette and the Conservatoire de Luxembourg Ville.

Alessandro Biasi, passionate about music since childhood, was inspired by local Puglia bands and Pink Floyd’s saxophone use. Despite earning a finance degree from Bocconi University, he pursued music in Luxembourg, obtaining a Diplôme Supérieur in Saxophone Jazz.
Performing across the Benelux region, Alessandro showcases his versatility with jazz standards, inspired by Miles Davis and Bob Reynolds. He also excels in pop/rock revivals and accompanying House DJ sets, captivating audiences with his dynamic stage presence.

Cyrian Prud’homme, who was born in Metz in 2001, is a skilled trumpet player. His musical adventure started at Woippy’s music school, where he initially picked up the trumpet. At just 12 years old, he was already developing his talents at the Metz Conservatory, exploring the rich landscapes of both classical and jazz music.
Nowadays, Cyrian continues to share his love for music, playing the trumpet with diverse groups in the realms of both classical and jazz, illustrating his commitment and enthusiasm for his art.

Olivier Kayl, at just 18, has a rich and diverse musical journey. Studying at the Conservatoire of Luxembourg City and the Dudelange School of Music, he participated in the prestigious JazzXChange project in 2022. He won 1st Prize in classical percussion and is now aiming for 1st Prize in Drumming for the 2023-2024 season. His education includes music theory, jazz theory, chamber music, orchestra, jazz vibraphone, sight-reading, and jazz drumming. Olivier’s exceptional musical identity skillfully blends jazz and classical music, showcasing his talents as a soloist and within orchestras.

Pato Banda, a versatile soloist, has seamlessly crossed over from classical music to contemporary jazz. His musical journey began in 2006 in German cities like Saarbrücken and Cologne, establishing him as a prominent figure in the European orchestra circuit. Banda’s creative prowess is evident in his album “Everywhere & Nowhere” (2021), featuring renowned tenor player Seamus Blake.
Originally a double bass student of José Miguel Reyes, Banda’s classical career flourished with the Orquesta Moderna before advancing his studies in Europe. He has performed with prestigious orchestras such as the Essen Philharmonic and the Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg. Banda’s jazz involvement began with fusion projects, including the album “SCL” (2016) with pianist Orion Lion, leading to his innovative works in contemporary jazz
