Led by Geoffrey Sabba, pianist and arranger, the band unites musicians from across the Greater Region, bridging generations and diverse influences. A unique combination of intuition, imagination, and talent allows for creative improvisation, fueling the band’s chemistry.

Biographies
Geoffrey Sabba began his musical journey with classical and jazz training at the Conservatoire de la Ville d’Esch-sur-Alzette and the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg. Since 2018, he has been the pianist and arranger for DukeBox, a swing band that energises Lindy Hop and Blues dancers across Luxembourg and beyond.
In 2022, he formed the Geoffrey Sabba Trio to push the boundaries of modern jazz, blending diverse jazz influences with his classical foundation. His trio merges acoustic and electric textures, incorporating elements like synthesisers and the iconic Fender Rhodes to craft a rich, contemporary sound.
In 2024, Geoffrey co-founded and currently directs the Altrimenti Jazz Band, uniting musicians from across the Greater Region. The band delivers dynamic performances that captivate audiences in Luxembourg and beyond, offering both jazz lovers and new listeners the chance to discover not only the music but also the vibrant jazz club setting where it comes to life.
Carmen Carbonell is a Cuban-Hungarian singer-songwriter blending Soul, Jazz, and Afro-Cuban influences. She began her musical journey studying classical piano as a child at the Conservatory of Santiago de Cuba before training in Jazz, Latin, and Pop-Rock at the Conservatory of Luxembourg.
As the lead singer of Rhythmic Soulwave, she wrote Stronger, a finalist song in the Luxembourg Song Contest 2025. Currently working on new music, she is also excited to join the Altrimenti Jazz Band, sharing her love for jazz and rich musical storytelling.
Simon Acquaviva, born in Metz in 1990, grew up in a music-loving family. He began his musical journey with an acoustic guitar, later joining the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Metz, where he discovered jazz.
In 2012, he co-founded The Pickles with Geoffrey Sabba, an instrumental free-rock band, playing local stages and recording the EP Sweet’N’Sour. After earning a master’s degree in 2014, he returned to the Conservatoire de Metz to learn piano and trained in Computer Aided Music (CAM).
In 2018, he co-founded the Small E.D. Band, a cover band of Eddy Mitchell’s hits. Since 2019, he has studied jazz guitar and music production at the Conservatoire d’Esch-Sur-Alzette and the Conservatoire de Luxembourg Ville.
Yasmine Leches, born in 2000, is an accomplished trombonist and educator from Luxembourg. She began her musical journey at the Luxembourg Conservatory before continuing her studies at the Royal Conservatory of Liège (BE), where she refined her technical skills and broadened her musical repertoire.
A highly versatile musician, Yasmine performs across a variety of genres, including jazz, pop, and harmonic and symphonic ensembles. In 2025, she will be appointed trombonist with the Luxembourg Military Band, marking a significant achievement in her evolving career.
She is also a member of the Luxembourgish contemporary jazz group Drop & Dowidder, where she showcases her improvisation skills. In addition to her performing career, Yasmine is dedicated to music education, teaching trombone and music theory to students of various levels.
Alessandro Biasi, passionate about music since childhood, was inspired by local Puglia bands and Pink Floyd’s saxophone use. Despite earning a finance degree from Bocconi University, he pursued music in Luxembourg, obtaining a Diplôme Supérieur in Saxophone Jazz.
Performing across the Benelux region, Alessandro showcases his versatility with jazz standards, inspired by Miles Davis and Bob Reynolds. He also excels in pop/rock revivals and accompanying House DJ sets, captivating audiences with his dynamic stage presence.
Cyrian Prud’homme, born in Metz in 2001, is a skilled trumpet player. His musical adventure started at Woippy’s music school, where he initially picked up the trumpet. At just 12 years old, he was already developing his talents at the Metz Conservatory, exploring the rich landscapes of both classical and jazz music.
Nowadays, Cyrian continues to share his love for music, playing the trumpet with diverse groups in the realms of both classical and jazz, illustrating his commitment and enthusiasm for his art.
Olivier Kayl, at just 18, has a rich and diverse musical journey. Studying at the Conservatoire of Luxembourg City and the Dudelange School of Music, he participated in the prestigious JazzXChange project in 2022.
He won 1st Prize in classical percussion and is now aiming for 1st Prize in Drumming for the 2023-2024 season. His education includes music theory, jazz theory, chamber music, orchestra, jazz vibraphone, sight-reading, and jazz drumming.
Olivier’s exceptional musical identity skillfully blends jazz and classical music, showcasing his talents as a soloist and within orchestras.
Thadée Sarter is a bassist, double bassist, and composer. In 1980, he trained in jazz standards with the Thionville collective Métronome.
He recorded the CD Kamel Trophy, featuring his compositions with world-music, classical, and electro-jazz influences, collaborating with virtuoso accordionist Charles Kieny.
Thadée regularly performs in the Grand Est and neighboring countries with Electrik Artet and Acoustik Artet, founded by drummer Michel Altmayer, and Harpagia, founded by guitarist Marc Leonard.
