Sarah Jane Morris and guitar virtuoso Antonio Forcione will present ‘Compare to What’, a concert built entirely around songs about social themes, feelings and inner landscapes, enriched by a tribute to musical greats from Stevie Wonder to Bob Dylan.

Sarah Jane Morris is not only a unique and incomparable voice, but also a formidable performer. An icon of modern jazz, she has a unique voice that oscillates effortlessly between blues, rock, jazz and soul, with an extraordinary range of four octaves.

She has made a name for herself thanks to her collaboration with the historic group Communards and alongside renowned artists such as Stadio, Mahsa Vahdat, Noemi, Mario Biondi, Enzo Avitabile, Nick The Nightfly, Dominic Miller and many others.

Since the late 1980s, she has recorded some fifteen albums, the latest of which was released on 8 March 2024 under the evocative title THE SISTERHOOD. This album pays tribute to some of the greatest female performers of contemporary music, united by a sense of closeness and ‘sisterhood’ through their artistic choices and personal struggles.

Among them are Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Miriam Makeba, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Rickie Lee Jones, Patti Smith, Annie Lennox and Sinéad O’Connor, artists who have deeply inspired Sarah Jane Morris throughout her career.

The show on Friday 25 April 2025 at the Altrimenti Cultural Centre is also the fruit of a fruitful collaboration between Sarah Jane Morris and Antonio Forcione.

Antonio Forcione is an exceptional Italian guitarist, composer and arranger, renowned for his innovative style blending jazz, flamenco and world music.

He has collaborated with renowned international artists such as Charlie Haden, Angelique Kidjo, Trilok Gurtu, Larry Coryell, Phil Collins, Bobby McFerrin, Zucchero and Van Morrison, creating unique and evocative sounds.

His career has taken him to the world’s most prestigious festivals and theatres, winning over audiences and critics alike with his virtuoso technique and exceptional musical sensibility.
